This was a really hard decision for me. I have decided to pull the plug on my blog.
Most of you readers will probably be disappointed in me because of this, but I have to do what is best for me.
Lately, my life is interfering with this lovely hobby, which is blogging.
My mission of Spadow’s Blog was to give everyone rich news about the latest content in the Korean version of MapleStory.
In the beginning my entries were sloppy and not that great, but I have grown in time and become better in it.
It’s quality over quantity what I was aiming for.
For me, creating an informational post with translated info, images & videos from my own and other sources is not easy.
Most of the posts required a lot of hours. Though, it was hard but my blog proved to be a success.
A lot of events have occurred in my personal life, so I really need a break from blogging.
Blogging on the internet is really a passion that I love to do. Did you know that I didn’t like it at first?
I, really am thankful to all my (loyal) readers who visited my blog over the past 2 years and 10 months.
All your comments have been read by me and I’m sorry I could not answer on all your comments.
These days, I don’t spend a lot of time in MapleStory, but I will definitely keep playing, though not much as I used to.
I intend to keep going with uploading videos on my YouTube account and I stay semi-active on Twitter.
Today is a really sad day for me and I wished it would never come, but now I suddenly have to leave you.
I will not delete this blog because I put a lot of effort in everything.
Visitor, it was an honour knowing you. Again thank you very much for sticking with me till the end.

it is natural to quit something that has been done for years however he has done a great great great job and i am gonna miss him but he did say he will be on once in awhile i guess but this doesn’t mean he will gone forever there will always be a tweet from him which i will know GO spadow! do what you gotta do out there we are all like this too.
Yeah he’ll end up quitting soon, IMO. Of my 4 and a half years playing this game, I’ve seen the strongest rise to the top just to end back down later on.

Sure, a lot of people came here SOLELY for the maple info, but I actually got to enjoy watching you “grow up” in maple through your posts. I can only hope the same lessons learned can apply to your everyday life.
Just keep this in mind: Yeah, it’s mostly just a KMS info blog, but not every maple info blog gets the visitors you have. Please remember that you have that ability to bring people in, and keep them there. USE that in your life, you’d be surprised what amazing things that can accomplish.

Heh, I remember when you first showed up at the MSEA AsiaSoft forums to assist me with my KMS Cygnus info thread over there. Looking back, that was the beginning of the floodgate being opened for new classes. It doesn’t seem like that long ago, but it was about two and a half years ago.
Dang, two and a half years? Sigh… I watched this blog crawl up from having an average of about 10-20+ posts per entry during the Cygnus era, then kicked up to around 40-50+ with Aran. Then you really went mainstream with Evan and Dual Blade with around 80-100+ posts. Ever since Big Bang, the average has rocketed to 130+ posts, if not higher…
Well, relax Spadow. The rest of us info runners got you covered.

Ah… The time period in which I really began commenting on this blog was around the release of the Balrog boss. Good times.
But man, did I get those average posts per entry wrong. Really wrong. Cygnus era barely had any posts. Aran era was still around 15+ posts. Still goes to show how much this blog has grown since those times.
Heh, I even remember when you added that little flag counter off to the side (which I doubt is counting visits correctly, unless it’s based on unique IPs rather than logging each individual visit). I remember thinking that breaking 50,000 US visitors was a rather big accomplishment for you.

A tad bit early on Aprils Fool joke arn’t you? Or is that a tad bit late?
Jokes aside – well that sucks. I use your website a lot. why? Because its less congested than other sites/forums. I mean, when i want info, its so damn hard to find it because there are just so many entries in the forums of certain websites. But here? Here, you get straight answers right away. no gimmicks. just from point A to point B to point C. Easy as that.
However, I respect your decision. A lot of people does not know how much work goes into making these blog, video editing, picture editing, writing, revising, and so forth. I am all to familiar with this stuff, and sometimes, the writing portion itself takes up 2 hours to do. sometimes, that 2 hours of writing is just the rough draft. Add in picture and so forth, and you just used a whole 15+ hour of man hour.
Anyways, sucks to be seeing u go, but its damn understandable. Good luck spadow.

I remember the early days when I read your blog. I also remember posting a thread on basilmarket once saying that you “this will come out (insert date)”. Nobody believed me and they also said that one guy from KMST isn’t enough proof. But looking back at it now, I think I was the one who introduced your blog to basilmarket, now every time you posted a new job or area, I hear about in BM 5 minutes after. It comes to show how much credibility your words and blog have gotten since then.
Anyways, I do assume that you’ll eventually return to blogging for maple in the future ,unless you close down the website. And in that case, I bid thee adieu.

Now that I think about it, perhaps Spadow’s most important contribution to the community is the role he played in the mainstreaming of information sharing between differing Maple communities.
It’s almost hard to remember what the international Maple community was like before the information explosion of about two or three years ago.
Before Spadow showed up, there was Fiel and SouthPerry. ShiKage had been seen around various MS forums, providing information about JMS for as long as I can remember. There was a small group of people on the MSEA forums that were keeping track of what was happening in every other version. Angelia blogged about her journey to becoming a Level 200 Bowmaster in MSEA. I myself had just started ferrying information about GMS to that MSEA group (thanks to Angelia) when the Cygnus classes came out in KMST. (In turn, a few people from that group are now frequent visitors to this blog and SouthPerry.) Mazefind and Aristos just showed up around this time as well.
(Hell, didn’t Spadow mention a while back that Angelia was the reason why he made this blog in the first place? Are you watching from afar, Angelia?)
Since then, the communities of the differing versions have become linked thanks to the efforts of people that I like to call information runners – but I was always bad with names.
Look around you, Spadow. People from GMS, MSEA, KMS, JMS, and EMS come here. I recall seeing a few TwMS, BMS, and CMS visit a few times as well. Three years ago, I would not have imagined this level of unity between the differing versions and their communities. You really will be missed.
Yup, really good times. After 5 minutes the info is posted, people would start to shout that cannon shooter is coming!! Get yo cannons!! xD. Thanks spadow for all the support and info you have given us. It helped and entertained us. Hope in the future youll get back. Peace. :]

This seems to be a time for farewells for a lot of people. I know that TONS of GMS players are quitting right now because of Nexon’s lack of action against major hacking outbreaks and duplicated items.
Just like the way GMS is failing to stand on it’s own two feet right now, everything must come to an end one day. Except maybe the Simpsons.
I’m sorry to see you go, but mostly just because it’s a hobby you’ll miss. I read your blog because it’s interesting as well as literate, and not to seem cold, but if you stop writing, I won’t be affected.
The important thing is that you live comfortably. If this blog puts too much of a strain on things like your profession or love life, I wholeheartedly agree you should take an indefinite break. I’d say the same to any Maplestory player as well.

yea i play gms as well and i just really can’t stand the hacking neither besides one month ago there was a chaos scroll exploit over gms suddenly one day the chaos scrolls went for 20 mil to 500k which has destroy the chaos scroll economy for one day pretty much.

This came as a surprise, so unexpected. You have had and still have alot of fans, and you will be missed.
Personally, I only read one blog about MapleStory, and that blog was this one. You did provide us with fresh information in an organised and esthetic manner. It was a pleasure to the eye as well as the brain.
Referring to Spadow’s blog was something I greatly enjoyed. Simply because the way you write; like an actuall blogger, and not just a random informative source.
I would take quality over quantity any day.

I have been reading your blog for many months now, and I wish that this moment would never have to come. However, all good things must eventually come to a gradual end. Its been a great run, hasn’t it? You’ve contributed a great deal to the MS community with tour loads of information on what was approaching, and gave us some insight on what to expect in the future. I respect your decision on moving on with your life and I wish you the best of luck on your future. You are a hard worker. You should realize this by now. This blog is living proof of what you can accomplish when you set your mind to a goal. Wow… The first day I actually find the Legendary Spadow’s blog, I read all this cool stuff about the Jump update, cannon shooters, and more; but now I find this post and it’s all going to be over? I understand what it’s like to have your life interfere with what you love to do best. I have to admit that I am let down by all of this, but at the same time I’m glad, because Spadow is, well, growing. I have no idea how old you are, let alone your real name, but if you are in fact reading this, know that I am proud of you and I hope that you do come back someday.
As for the rest of you, don’t worry about a thing. Fortunately for us, Spadow’s blog has inspired many others to do the same thing. I agree with the sentiment here. Sure, there are a bunch of other KMST/ Maple blogs, but you had a way of organizing your information and presenting it in such a way that I enjoyed reading every detail and waiting anxiously for your next post. Its been a year, but Im sure I will remember you and your blog, along with the old Maplestory.

Dear Spadow, I couldnt help but to notice that somewhere on southperry you posted what looked like a book and it had early Luminous design sketches in it. As well as some images of Freud. I have to know, is it a book that is open to the public? is it even a book or were the images just released online? I love MapleStory’s promotion art and honestly, it is probably half of the reason i still play today. If there is a maplestory concept art book out there i would love to know! i’m not sure if you ever even check this blog anymore but i know you are still active in the online maple community. If you see this can you please either respond here or email me, or preferably both. Thanks so much for your help
