KMST V381 ~ Archer restructuring part 1!

The update finally came! I had a busy day. I do have an archer in the test server, but I don’t have time to level it up. As of this post, there are only six days left when the update will be released in the public server as of this post. I have information about the Archer restructuring, which you can check under the cut.
I will upload videos on my YouTube channel of the new restructured Archer next week!

Earlier I said that Party Quests will be renewed, which is true. I cannot participate in any Party Quest at the moment. The NPC will tell me that it’s under construction and that it will come soon. In this patch, there are upgraded versions of existing Party Quests rewards.
Three new Party Quests were added, however since they’re under construction I cannot tell you anything new.

Do you find the lightbulb above of your head annoying? Don’t worry, because now you can just find it on the left side of your screen.
The lightbulb is for quests, the star is for events and the purple stone is for a special event called Saint Saver. There are more notification icons, such as for Item Pot and PC bang.

A new ‘!’ alert button has been added as a notification. It’s a reminder for you to distribute your SP/AP.
Furthermore, the UI for the medal collection has been changed. You can sort it by name and the collection actually shows how your medals look like instead of plain names.

If you like unicorns and females then this is the perfect pet for you.
Although, don’t expect it to be cheap.

There are more changes, but I will tell them soon when this hits the public server. :)
Please note that the following skill values are taken when the skill level is at its max level.

      EEEEP

      • TheXcited says:

I’m so excited and it isn’t even Friday!

        • 메이풀 서토리 says:

          I loled so hard there

          • Nero says:

um i think its the joke but i cant help but point out that it is friday, anyway i think all this will make the archer class a bit overpowered but as long as NEXON doseint nerf us bandits/CBs/shadowers then im fine with that

    • Mr says:

Does anyone feel like discontinuing their bowmens right now? I mean it sounds stupid, but I don’t want to miss the great advantages we get during third job. Sure 4th job is when we get the best skills, but at lower lvls it’s more noticeable when we have buffs like a phoenix or concentrate.

    • intellagent says:

what about wild hunter? if there revamping other bowmens this much then wild hunter will be underpowered!…(well comparatively)…. and strafe don’t work as 2nd job attack even if if it is 4 wind walkers …. oh ya and do archers get rings like wariors and mages did? that’d make them to overpowered by farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

    • desmond says:

sorry i will like to ask do marksman have Concentration?

    • desmond says:

sorry i will like to ask do marksman have Concentration????

Awesome Spadow! We appreciate the effort you put into your posts.

    • Spadow says:

Thanks. That kind of post cheers me up. :)

      • Viper says:

        Finally Spadow; Good Job

      • TacoBeard says:

        Good to know :D
but whats with the “kind of cheers me up?”
it almost seems like you expect more XD
Well then again we dont you about your RL so w/e
just know this helps me know that deleting my archer was a bad decision T_T

        • Viper says:

kind of POST cheers me up

        • richard says:

by removing the “”that” in “that kind of post cheers me up” changes the meaning entirely.
spadow is saying that the posters who are showing their thanks for his continued updates make him happy rather than saying that being thanked gives him little joy.

          • Viper says:

no no/ if you remove the “post” in that kind of post cheers me up
then it would be that “kind of cheers me up”

          • Ragoss says:

Who would of thought a thank you and your welcome, much appreciated posts could start drama, LOL!

          • Viper says:

            XD

          • TacoBeard says:

lol wasn’t trying to start drama T_T
just read wrong is all :(
anyway sorry ffor any misconseptions XD
still was bad idea for me to delete my archer though …

          • richard says:

puahaha brain fart between translating my thoughts into words

      • Arcuvia says:

First I would like to say as a fellow archer this is the most anticipated patch after Big Bang for me.

Also Spadow can you confirm something:

The puppet says it will draw monsters towards it when summoned. However, if I leave my puppet there and NEW monsters spawn will they continue to be drawn by the puppet. If not then I feel like this skill will not be used during training.

        Thanks

        • Lou says:

Well that wouldn’t really matter anymore since elite puppet attacks, so the new monsters that spawned will be attracted to the elite puppet because it made damage to the monster before you.

But anyway, thanks for the post Spadow.
Love how we can pot durring hurricane ^^

          • whhhhat says:

We can pot during Hurricane now? Where soes it say that?

          • Arcuvia says:

Right, but I would still rather the puppet aggro monsters continuously by its presence. And if it only attacks one monster at a time it still probably won’t have a good mob around it. I just want this puppet to gather a good mob for you every time you come back to it.

    • LynjanDakari says:

I agree. Spadow, thanks for taking the time to do this blog. :)

  3. Andy says:

I have been waiting for this all day and this is amazingly summarized. Thank you Spadow! <3

  4. Jayden says:

Wowww Nice Update For Archers! WOOT :D

  5. SlayerGhost says:

Looks like I’m first. All the changes are really nice. Looks like there’s gonna be a BowMaster bandwagon. Glad to see Bowman finally getting some real power.

  6. sammya says:

Hey can you take like a vid of double jump or somtin

  7. techboy says:

i think this makes them potentially the best mobility class now right? same as wh

  8. Lambo says:

YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! I DIDNT THINK THEY WOULD EVEN DO ANYTHING TO WIND ARCHERS!!!!!!!!!(even though the skill is lame) BUT OH MY GOD ITS ABOUT TIME PEOPLE KNEEL TO THE BOWMAN OF GMS!!!! IM SO EXCITED :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

  9. LynjanDakari says:

    FAP FAP FAP.

  10. Snowmanhotti says:

Very nice content thanks for the hard work

  11. RazorNion says:

… no words can describe how awesome this is.

  12. Edwin says:

Awsome updates!! but i guess no Archer legend D:

    • Jordan says:

Dude, its a good thing the legend didn’t come out with this patch. Did you notice that the legends are ALWAYS stronger than the original class? If they came out with this patch, then people would still see bowmen as seriously underpowered, and I would expect a lot of complaining.

  13. sebysebyseby says:

Question about double jump. Since I’ve become very used to jump shooting, does double jump allow you to shoot twice without touching the ground?

  14. Bay says:

Great update, bowmen really deserved it, but i think that the changes finally make bowman better mobbers!

  15. LynjanDakari says:

Spadow, is Dragon Pulse now exclusively for Marksmen, and not Bowmasters? If so, do they have a knockback skill at all?

    • HDex says:

It seems so because the archers get drain arrow. So, it is only fair that crossbowman get something in return. What I find awkward is that Spadow put that Vengeance and Hamstring are being removed from the Marksman class but they were never there to begin with. I know that Blind is the equivalent of Hamstring for a Marksman but what about Vengeance? Please correct this, Spadow.

      • Spadow says:

Ah, thanks for noticing. It says in the patch note and I basically translated it. But you are right. Only the skill Blind has been removed from the Marksman class.

        I corrected it & Thanks!

        • HDex says:

No problem, as a level 169 Marksman those things jump out to me, lol. Good job on editing it so quickly and producing such fine information to the public.

  16. Mobius says:

Good work Spadow, I’ve been waiting long time for this. Don’t let anyone tell you anything bad about you you’ve done a spectacular job by organizing, writing and posting this stuff in your blog. I could mention some blogs where there is a whole mess in there updates and man it’s not funny. Good Job Spadow keep the good work up ;)

  17. Sack0fAction says:

Very interesting, I wouldn’t mind seeing some new skills being used. Btw great work so far!

  18. Ace says:

It’s finally here! The updates and changes actually seem pretty good :D Question: If Silver Hawk doesn’t need summoning rocks, does that mean Phoenix doesn’t need them either? Thanks Spadow.

  19. Boone says:

Even though i already read what other people had translated… I still prefer your blog. They just have text, you have pictures and the animations. I’ve been waiting for this update for quite awhile haha. I can’t wait! Just have to get through Chaos first in GMS.. lol

  20. Jeff says:

    Sweet!
WHs got nothin on Bow Masters now! :D

  21. Karkain says:

Excellent! Now we’re going to see some serious payback from the Archers on Wild Hunters! It’s great to see exactly how much the Bowmen are going to destroy the imitating Wild Hunters. I know I’m not Bowmen expert, but I’m thrilled to see them on the rise.

    Go Bowmen!

  22. Sonnadick says:

Yessss Bowmen mobility issues are fixed!!!! finally xD

  23. Tim says:

Ahh what.. this is archer update and no Wh? how mean.. guess i have to start an BM now :]

  24. Axxez says:

AMAZING :D Thanks Spadow for these updates :) You’re my number 1 Maplestory news (actually, the ONLY one). I check in your blog everyday to see if anything’s new~

  25. Wadalite says:

Although I have never in my life played a Bowman (Legends FTW! :D), this is very exciting! Maybe I’ll make a Bowman after all. Ranged classes aren’t my style though. :/

    Thanks Spadow! :P

  26. Alilatias says:

I’m expecting a huge nerfing by the time this reaches the live servers. I mean, look…

    Concentrate: +25 ATK
    Bow Expertise: +30 ATK
    Advanced Final Attack: +30 ATK
    Marksmanship: 25% Defense Ignore
Spirit Link: +20% damage, +40% HP, AND +35% Weapon/Magic Defense

But I do have to note as a Bowmaster… Notice how the majority of these skills above are 4th job skills. Bow Expertise, Sharp Eyes, Spirit Link, Advanced Final Attack, and Hurricane are the most important skills. They all require 30 SP to max as well – meaning we’ll be Level 170 by the time all of those are maxed.

Hell, I think we’re the very last class to put points into Maple Warrior now.

Illusion Step (+45 DEX and +35% evasion) is no joke either, and we’ll probably want to put 1 point into Ultimate Inferno early for the range increase as well.

Surprisingly enough, Elite Puppet is probably one of the least important skills here, which is saying a lot, as ALL of the Archer skills are useful now. Never thought I’d see the day this happens.

Archers were always such long term classes.

    • Viper says:

Dont forget Bowmens were already pretty weak…at least BMs were
the main reason for this is cuz we have no good mobbing skill
personally i would like an inferno combined with arrow rain XD

    • pro says:

concentrate is a 3rd job skill now..

      • Alilatias says:

I know that. I brought it up because it’s quite ridiculous how a third job skill provides that much of a boost.

        • Karkain says:

I (just from having played on my brother’s BM before) find BM’s to be pretty challenging. BM’s now have no close range or even Dragon’s Breath, so they will need to stay back from things. I know their jump really helps them get around, but it’s not like they can wave monsters off anymore.

I can imagine Concentrate being reduced, but not by much. Plus, the multiplier for bow mastery is probably somewhat low, or at least lower than a spear/pole arm (Dragon’s Blood provides 25 atk, Beholder’s Hex provides 35), though I realize that BM’s are not meant for crippling damage.

          • anonymous dude says:

As of this iteration of the Bowmaster, in terms of damage per minute, it’ll beat every class with just hurricane in terms of 1v1 (of course with the rest of the buffs).

No idea why you think their +55 attack (which is actually +20 more in comparison to pre Jump) for all their attacks would be weak.

Unless they nerf some aspect of the Bowmaster or enhance the other classes, Bowmaster is going to be the current king of 1v1.

            *note , I’m a Marksman :P

          • Alilatias says:

Beholder’s Hex is a 4th job skill and it activates randomly, so it’s understandable there.

Dragon Blood got changed to give +60 STR instead of 25 ATK during the Warrior revamp. I have a feeling that Concentrate is going to get changed to give something like +60 DEX down the road.

  27. Killmeplsok says:

Wow, they actually listen to what player said…look at the removed skills, most of them are useless anyway, maybe not DP.

  28. Anderson says:

    HEY Wildhunters????? lol

  29. Matt says:

So, I have a question for all of you. I’m making a new UA and I’m leaning towards either Corsair or MarksMan. Knowing this is coming in the next…what is it…3 months after Chaos is the schedule right? Someone please verify. Anyways…which one should I choose?

    • sammya says:

choose sair. this is like a year away. because 1st it has to go through all 3 stages of chaos
then all the crappy updates in between THEN it has to go through 2 more months of the 1st 2 jump things
so yea choose UA sair. i have one and it is awsome

    • Sam says:

Marksman is more fun than Sair. Sairs get a bigger benefit from being a UA (Shark Wave is semi-useful for training when not on your boat), but I prefer my Sniper over my Sair at this point in time.

If you want to try both, I’d make a Sair UA and then make a regular Marksmen (considering they don’t really need the UA skill they would get).

  30. Jay says:

Wow these updates look really nice. Their mobility still isn’t as good as Dual Bladers though ;D I wonder when any Thief or Pirate restructure will come.. Thieves don’t need it that badly, but Pirates do. Probably with the coming of new heroes?

  31. Ghost says:

Maybe it’d because I don’t play archers, but I find this patch very dull.

    As for the PQs:

    1st: Aquarium PQ
    2nd: Giant PQ?
    3rd: Ice Knight PQ

  32. A long time viewer of your blog says:

Spadow, you’ve done so much for the Maple community at large. Whether we are North American Maplers, European Maplers, Chinese Maplers, or any kind of Mapler there is, you provide us with the latest info in a very qualitative, organized and easy-to-read blog. I personally want to thank you for all of your continued efforts thus far, and I hope you pursue this blog much further! Thank-you on behalf of many of your readers!

    • darklime says:

Stop talking the words out of my mouth!!! lol. Thank you Spadow, You don’t know how many times I checked your blog for the Mage patch (I’m a mage and as the most underpowered class it’s extremely hard not to know what we get.) Anyways. I think I post a lot of crap comments on your blog and I’m sorry if I do. I appreciate how you take your extra time from your long days to provide us with info, which most of us would probably not do.

Meh, I still hope Nexon doesn’t OP all the classes, then mages will fall behind…again. =/ I’m very happy for BMs and MMs, but I hope most classes are on par now. =x

    this is better than sex

  37. whutnut? says:

nice. now archers will have both HP and mobility. Its something that should of been done a LONG time ago honestly. But alas, as long as they do it now, then i’ll take it.

  38. Blitz says:

    I just gotta say…

    BM/MM > WH

  39. Kenny says:

I think the Flash jump-like skill is pretty unnecessary, and it looks awkward. Other than that, I want to make a BM, like NOW! ♥

    • Viper says:

double jump is necessary! i remember those times when the rest of my party flash jumped/teleported way ahead and i was stuck with walking,…

    • Chocolatey says:

This is awesome that archers have the mobility and supportable skillls though feel pretty sorry about the nightlord that a double jump may have similarities with flash jump. But seeing bowman using hurricane on air would look suprising now, thats skill control! ^_^

  40. Richei says:

Spadow i realy admire your work and u certainly do not disappoint . These archer changes are awesome

  41. spadowrox says:

    aww
i was looking forward to a new sexy ultimate move or something HUGE.
    and also a archer hero.
but i guess they just get super buffed with some more nice mobbing and puppet skills.
thanks for the great work spadow!
i always look forward to ur work!
(btw, is there still a chance that a new hero might come out in part 2 or 3? or is this all they have planned?)

  42. Gafs says:

    L> Thief and Pirate updates.
Sif make an Adventurer buff patch and leave two out. That’d just leave things unbalanced.

    • Chocolatey says:

Since spadow has been our greatest news info person i would say he deserves a pirate update. I mean dude he is a bucc i say all ua should be updated so a complaint would finally stop even after this bowmen patch there will still be a complaint over thieves and pirates -_-as you would know the other 2 ua’s thing of it not fair thats why. So why not another jump patch?

  43. Light says:

A little dissapointed by the changes…mostly because I was hoping for Inferno to get much higher damage boost, and I was hoping for new party skills as well. Instead we got Elite Puppet…what a joke.

Anyway thanks for bringing this info Spadow. I’ve been following your blog for few years now. It’s awesome.

    • darklime says:

Yeah, the puppet thing was lolwtf, but dude, take into consideration that you got more than 50 attack and 25% ignore on top of all your other buffs. If you think you didn’t get enough, look at mages. We got 40 int and 20% ignore…

    • Sam says:

Inferno is a 600% damage to 6 monster skill with an added 140% DoT for 12s. 600% damage + DoT + the speed of the attack makes it comparable to any 4th job mobbing move, including Torpedo (900% damage, but slow), Dragon Strike (only like 700% damage, around the same speed as Inferno but no DoT), and better than a lot of other ones.

    • darklime says:

NEW party skill? Dude, at least you HAVE a party skill. I was really expecting it for mages. >.>

  44. cool stuff I cant wait to see what that Kenta, Fat lip guy, and Dimi Ice Knight thigy is

Im not into archers but my archer buddies are getting geddy about this

Also I love how that unicorn looks

  45. spadowrox says:

i also feel that bms r WAY too op atm.
i have a feeling their gona get rid of some attack buffs from like afa or something

  46. sakura4li says:

    so….this update doesn’t include WH?
    Darn!!

  47. A Person, OK? says:

    AMAZING….

  48. ChuanJun says:

Left out : Mastery Book given Sharp Eyes 30

100% chance of success to level 30 Sharp Eyes distributed to all 3rd Job and above Archers

  49. GrSniper says:

How does Pierce work now? Did damage penalty get removed for it too?

    • anonymous dude says:

Pierce never had a damage penalty, it actually increases in damage every time it goes through a monster (Some people says its around 1.2x more damage every time it pierces a monster)

      • GrSniper says:

So, it starts with 1150% damage and increases even further? o.o I thought it starts with penalty and increases upto 1150%

        • Pierce says:

You’re thinking about Iron Arrow. lt used to decrease in damage, for every monster it went through.

Pierce’s does the opposite: It amplifies its damage for each monster it goes through.

          • GrSniper says:

I was asking if it was hitting the first monster 1150% and increases more, or it starts with a lower percentage and increases up to 1150%.

I haven’t reached 4th job yet on my sniper >.<

          • Chocolatey says:

Yea i have a MM and its pretty fun to hold on to the skill and when i usually find a large amount all lined up monsters i just love releasing it. There it goes i shoot one pierce its so penetrating. And yea its opposite from lightning chain. Pierce is a fun skill is you know how to use it. I recommmend train a MM on certain plat forms that have lined up spawn of monsters which i mean enough monsters to make it worth piercing.

  51. ~dougall~ says:

Thank you so much spadow I’ve never been more excited for a patch! Finally we old-school archers make a major comeback!
I love how bowmasters and marksmen seem to be 2 distinct, but well-balanced classes finally. I was tired of being exactly the same until 4th job… But now bowmasters get a healing skill, while marksmen get a kb skill instead. And now bowmasters can finally compete in mobbing with ultimate inferno! ^o^ The only thing that bums me out a bit us that concentrate isn’t just for the bowmasters anymore. But I can live with that lol.
AND THE MOBILITY! I personally could handle not having the double jump skill, but max speed of 160… That’s sick! It’s faster than my pig mount. XD
I’d go on and on but I’m probably getting annoying now… Sorry! Totally psyched for this update in gms!

  52. lolwut says:

I see Dunas PQ, Kenta PQ aaaand…..wut? xD

  53. xTedious says:

WHICH IS BETTER, BM OR MM?!
Urgent, need to make one ASAP.
Please notify me the pros and cons. Thanks :D

    • ~dougall~ says:

I think at this point it’s a matter of personal preference. Seems like bowmasters will have an advantage in 1v1 damage due to hurricane and advanced final attack, and marksmen have an advantage in mobbing due to pierce. Although marksmen will still be quite effective 1v1 due to ultimate strafe having higher damage than hurricane without final attack. Bowmasters also shouldn’t be pushovers in mobbing anymore because of ultimate inferno. Also you get to pick between fire for bowmasters and ice for marksmen. And bowmasters now have a healing skill while marksmen have the only knock-back skill. I prefer bowmasters personally, I just think bow is cooler than crossbow lol.

      • Chocolatey says:

mm yea thats a good idea to think before which you would prefer to choose

      • Binky says:

        true…
and then they will get out a Xbow hero and this nice theory of your’s will go in flames XD
        GOOO NEXON!

        • Alilatias says:

No, chances are extremely high that the Archer hero is going to use bows, because Wild Hunters already exist and they use crossbows. It’d be really nasty to the crossbow economy to have two Crossbow wielding classes released in a row.

          • Viper says:

lolz, if i had my way there wouldnt be a hero…because then bowmen equips would be more expensive, plus the new hero will probably have SE and be much stronger then the adventurers

    • ~dougall~ says:

Oh ya forgot to mention marksmen get 1-hit ko skill with snipe too…

    • gambitflash says:

Not to be rude or anyhing. But I think you are bandwagoning.
Anyways,if you really like archers,do make one.I suggest trying both :D

  54. Spellyness says:

    O.M.G So excited!!! ^^

When this comes out in the official server I am going to go wild =P

  55. Wisdom says:

    Nooooo…no more Storm Break. D:

  56. Dylan says:

Does anyone know if the spirit link phoenix stacks with hb?

    • Viper says:

      probably

      • Chocolatey says:

Me too i was wondering, i just notice the hawks are like a beholder buff now and sweet really a 40% hb? with a drk’s hb stack to it , it would be insane lol hehe check this out though
YOUR BASE HP 5000 +40%HB OF YOUR OWN SKILL = 7000 THEN WHEN YOU PUT TWO KINDS OF HB IF ITS STACKABLE? 40%+60%=100% HB BOOST SO YOUR BASE HP SAME ABOVE 5000 FOR EXAMPLE 100% MORE THATS 10K HP THERE 10000 ^ ^ THATS THE GOOD NEWS WHEN YOU RECRUIT A DRK TO THE PARTY WHEN YOU SOLO A BOSS AS YOUR A BOWMEN YOU HAVE LESS CHANCE TO DIE YES!! IM GLAD IM A DARK KNIGHT!

        • Sam says:

          Why are you caps locking?

And I’m pretty sure they stack like 40% x 60%; using your example, it would be 7k HP and then +60% on top of that, making it 11.2k HP.

  57. Thiena says:

I thank you Spadow, for this post will make me proud of my Bowmaster after all these years I have enjoyed it. :D

    If that made sense.

  59. Sherlock says:

    >”< is sharp eyes still availiable? or did you just not mention it because there's no change? i trained a bm for the sake of getting sharp eyes !!! will be so sad if it got removed

  60. BiLL says:

OMG I AM GOING CRAZY OVER THIS! Can’t Frikin Wait…

How do you think we’ll be able to hit the 160% cap without thrust though? Purely from equips seems like a stupid idea…

    But everything here is AWESOME!

    Thanks Spadow

    • Menemsha says:

You get +30 Speed from the skill alone, all you need is +20 Speed and a speed pill. On the other hand, you can just get hasted.

  61. Binky says:

So.,… now Wild Hunters are not that shiny anymore :|

  62. s0meb0dy says:

Okay, I found something really not fair,
    Thieves: Haste AND Flash Jump
Bowmans: High Speed (Especially Wild Hunters…) AND Double Jump
    Magicians: Teleport
    Pirates: Dash
    Buccaners(/Vipers): Transformation gives Haste effect
    Corsiars: Recoil Shot
    Adventurer Warrior: Nothing?

I see that a lot of times they just copy other classes’ skills…
Anyway, thanks Spadow for posting that.

    • Zuzique says:

So true, well, they got rush, but it doesn’t really count.
The bad thing it that we cant say “it’s okay they’ll have revamp” like we did with bowmen although we were right, they got restructuring already, so it seems that explorer warriors will stay slow forever :/ (dw got flash jump, aran got combat step).

      • s0meb0dy says:

-Sadly, Rush’s delay time is very long (Compared to other skills…).
-Dawn Warrior’s skill called “Soul Rush”, and it’s INSTEAD of jumping…
        -Dammit.

    • SealedEye says:

In a way we… kinda dont need it. Dark Knights get a speed boost from Berserk (at least, by this point of the Jump! updates) and get Monster Magnet along with Heroes, Heroes get a long hit box for Coma and Panic, and Paladins can freeze monsters in place with Ice Charge, and getting a long hit box from Charge Blow. Not to mention all Adventurer Warriors get Rush. In terms of actual movement without monsters, yes we do have mobility problems compared to seemingly everyone else. But instead we have great control of monster positions in relation to our own and vice versa. Besides we can wal through most things thanks to our high hp. Besides, making speed shoes isnt all that difficult or expensive. And if your willing to put down your Taru, Goblin, and pink capes, gettin a Maple or Alcadno/Zenumist upgraded cape can be effective.

      • Chocolatey says:

Since there will never be speed mobility updates for ua warriors all i can think of is nexon should make some new small maps specialize for warriors.Though i don’t go for speed equips anyway because i only go for str% equips for power damage and as weapon att equips. this is the end of my post there is nothing i can think of what will work for warriors when they don’t have what they need as in speed.

      • darklime says:

Wait…i thought all warriors got like +30 speed or something from JUMP….or was that just DrKs?..

      • Mobility says:

The is such a thing as mounts. When l see videos of warriors, l often see them incorporate mounts into their training. It, no doubt, helps to have a mount when you’re browsing through a town or rushing through some maps.

        Practice using your mount, and it could become effortless. ; }

        • Chocolatey says:

Yup i am stuck using my mount as my haste -_- but actually drk get 20+ from jump not 30 though kinda sucks that other warriors don’t have that. Because i am a warrior fan i have hero and paladin as well, tanking, attacking, and soloing is my favorite thing to do everyday when i use my warriors. But trust me we warriors have brute control over our keyboards. BUT IT CAN GET TIRING

    • Chocolatey says:

YAim a warrior too and warrior is my main (drk) though i understand you that we warriors still struggle in training but just hope that there be more new small maps for us to train at least. T_T

  63. artsairys says:

do they still have soul arrow?

  64. 93john1 says:

The title says part 1, so is there going to be a second and/or third part to this update Spadow? I’d be really disappointed if this was all the final update was. Big Bang had Mechs for its third update, which was HUGE. Then, Chaos had pvp, which was HUGE too. This? ….Doesn’t really live up to the giant MS update standards.

    • Alilatias says:

Part 1 was Warrior update along with Monster Park Level 1-119.
Part 2 was Mage update and Monster Park Level 120+.
Part 3 is Archer update and PQ revamp.

Spadow mentions Part 1 here for the Archer update because we know these skills are going to be adjusted once more by next week (and probably a third time when the updates hit the live server), just like what happened in the Warrior and Mage updates.

  65. Monblank says:

I think bowmasters are too overpowered compared to marskmans…
Because marskmans just got 5% more on ultimate strafe and bowmasters the 600% dmg inferno, i think marskmans should get more dmg on ultimate strafe because it is slower that hurricane, or it just should have no delay and be like battleship cannon from corsairs.

And good job spadow :D you blog is the best, i tried to search another place to find the archer patch when you were posting but all those sites just suck.
I hope you continue doing your awesome job~~! ;D

    • Mosha says:

Marksmen have snipe, the most powerful skill in the game, and now it ignores 40% of the def so marksmen aren’t weaker than bowmasters. About mob skills I always considered marksmen as one of the best mobbers (at least between adventurers) because of piercing arrow that can hit damage cap easily, the only con was the lack of movility that now will have.

      Words from a bowmaster.

  66. BattleHydrax says:

Wow, This makes the resistances look like shitD:
Hope theres a resistance restructuring :)
Thanks for the information spadow! I have always checked your website everyday as my hobby xD and it includes youtube and facebook. Lolz

    -BattleHydrax GMS

    • Light says:

Resistance changes were made in Chaos. They basically nerfed Dual Blades, Merchanics and all new classes except Evans…..

Nexon now thinks they are balanced….but all they did is nerf new classes and now make adventurers overpowered.

      • dennyvuquach says:

If you think Resistance classes are underpowered, Bishops are still weaker than those classes.

        • Light says:

Well I have a Wild Hunter at lv100, and I do play KMS, I do believe I’m weaker then Bishop…

Bishops have HS + tons of party skils as well..

          • dennyvuquach says:

How do Wild Hunters are weaker than Bishops? They have Wild Balkans + Final Attack which outdamages Angel’s Ray on bossing. I’ll admit Wild Hunter’s are actually weaker than Bowmasters and Marksmen in Jump update, but even if Wild Hunters are underpowered, Nexon might buff them more in terms of damage.

          • TY-Bays says:

            ^^

Just want to let you know Denny, Wild Balkins is actually Wild Arrow Blast. Other than that, I agree with you. Wild Hunters just need to get buffed a little more, since they lack Advanced Final Attack, but they’re still almost as strong as Bowmasters.

      • darklime says:

You got it all wrong…DBs were BUFFED. Yes, their % in skills got nerfed, but their katara formula got changed to act like an attack shield. So instead of DBs hitting HIGH LOW HIGH LOW with their dagger then katara, They hit HIGH HIGH HIGH HIGH with their dagger and katara (damage) that’s why their skill % got nerfed, but they didn’t get nerfed.

Mechs barely got nerfed from what I see….DW, this game will never be balanced as long as Nexon owns the company… -_-

        • Light says:

          Taken from Spadows Blog:

          “Mechanic (1st Job)

          – The weapon and magic defense of Metal Armor: Prototype has been decreased from 400 to 200
          – Damage of Drill Rush has been decreased from 180% to 150% and the amount of monsters Drill Rush can attack has been increased from 10 to 15

          Mechanic (2nd Job)

          – Atomic Hammer now ignores 20% of the monster’s defense instead of 30%
          – Damage of Rocket Booster has been decreased from 360% to 160%
          – The chance of guarding a monster’s attack of Perfect Armor has been decreased from 30% to 20%

          Mechanic (3rd Job)

          – Damage of Satellite has been increased from 160% to 210%
          – Damage of Magnetic Field has been decreased from 250% to 200%, the skill duration has been increased from 30 to 60 seconds and the cooldown time has been increased from 30 to 180 seconds
          – Accelerator: EX-7 now reduces the monster’s defense by 15% instead of 30%
          – The skill duration of Healing Robot: H-LX has been decreased from 40 to 30 seconds. The maxHP recovery rate has been increased from 25% to 50% and the cooldown time has been decreased from 45 to 35 seconds
          – Damage of Rocket Punch has been decreased from 570% to 540%

          Mechanic (4th Job)

          – The weapon attack from Metal Armor Extreme has been decreased from 50 to 40
          – The regular attack of Metal Armor: Missile Tank has been decreased from 110% to 100%. The amount of MP you lose per 5 seconds has been decreased from 100 to 25 and the critical rate has been decreased from 30% to 20%
          – The skill duration of Robo Factory: RM1 has been decreased from 45 to 40 seconds. The cooldown time has been increased from 40 to 60 seconds
          – Damage of Laser Blast has been decreased from 400% to 360%
          – Damage of Metal Armor: Heavy Machine Gun (Missile Tank mode) has been decreased from 100% to 95%”

You call this barely a nerf ? Almost every single skill got nerfed.

          • dennyvuquach says:

The regular attack of Metal Armor: Missile Tank has been decreased from 110% to 100%. The amount of MP you lose per 5 seconds has been decreased from 100 to 25 and the critical rate has been decreased from 30% to 20%

I call this barely a nerf, though it’s still a nerf. But in my opinion, Mechanics are still on par with Corsairs and other classes. Even if Mechanics (and Wild Hunters) are underpowered, Nexon will buff them eventually.

          • darklime says:

O______O I thought they only had like 2 skills and laser blast nerfed…lol my bad. Still, they won’t nerf them to the point where they’re weak. Also, I was still right about the DB formula.

    • NovaNuvaMS says:

lol dw Enduring Fire/Quintuplet Shot has 140% damage and hits 5 times. So Quintuplet shot has a total of 700% dmge (: …….Don’t forget the 4th job and the other 3rd job skills aswell ;) and Jaguar o-shi 800% dmge ahahaha……

  67. Chocolatey says:

    there not risistance are good

  68. dennyvuquach says:

Wild Hunters are still fine the way they are. But I’m glad that Bowmasters and Marksmen are as good as Wild Hunters now!

    • dennyvuquach says:

Actually, Bowmasters and Marksmen are somewhat stronger than Wild Hunters, since Bowmasters have Advanced Final Attack and Marksmen have 40% Ignore Defense on Snipe.

And wow at the new skill Double Jump (equilvalent to Jaguar Jump). That’s why Nexon calls this patch “Jump!”

  69. Bluebandandit says:

I’m very unhappy with the fact that everyone and their mother has flash jump now =_= and I hate that they removed wind break for an iron arrow knock-off. I mean, seriously? That’s what made my WA so fun :(

Honestly, I liked it when ranged classes swung at close enemies. It balanced the concept of range vs close-range and, while it was frustrating at times, it was fun when you became better at maneuvering around enemies. It was just problem and solution/cause and effect. “Problems” (AKA, things to overcome) are key tools in creating compelling gameplay. But Nexon insists that “problems” like bow-swinging are inconvenient for the players and should be rid of entirely.

    • heyy says:

well swinging a bow and standint their in pretty pointlesss…
imagine trying to play netts pyramid on hell mode if that system was still there…
      well it would be…hell

      • Bluebandandit says:

But it gives purpose to cool KB skills (skill circulation is NOT pointless), and as I’m speaking from a “what the developers should -have done” point of view, its not its impossible to add some form of accommodation for archers in netPQ…I mean, not thinking through something as fundamentally basic as ranged class participation might make that design team look like a bunch of monkeys >.>

        • darklime says:

Was AR, AE, Inferno and bliz useable when close to enemies pre-BB? Also, I 100% agree with you. NLs and Archers shouldn’t have had the ability to attack close. Every new skill is just like a buff raising attack….I want REAL supportive skills that I can see and use that aren’t passive. Makes the game more annoying, but fun at the same time. Like when I used to use seal with my mage, not it’s rendered useless. Imagine if it wasn’t, then mages would be more wanted…There’s a lot of crap Nexon skill has to fix and if I was in their shoes, I would fix it in a non-biased way.

  70. gambitflash says:

A video is up on youtube of 161 marksman.Search for kmst jump marksman. There are more vids of rangers and bowmasters
As a sniper,I am satisfied after watching all the skills of both the classes.Although I do think our eruption should be a little more faster.
But then again, snipers are supposed to be like that, slow and powerful, rangers are all about speed,so thats ok by me :D

  71. NovaNuvaMS says:

I’m pretty sad tht Wind Archers don’t have Storm Break anymore b/c it was such a good skill, it was able to knock back enemies quickly and it actually looks great when it’s combined with Wind Walk…To Spadow or any1 else, does Storm Pike get to knock back enemies or does it just hits 6 monsters/enemies?

  72. Jeff says:

    this is so godly

  73. Julesx says:

I hope they change MM skills b/c now BM are good at mobing and HOLY at bosing and MM dont have Adv FA, so now we have same weap. att as BM. Also MM dont get a huge boost at 1vs1 skills D:

    • Alilatias says:

      “BM are good at mobing”

Nah. I’d say we’re worse off at mobbing now that we don’t have any kind of mob control skill. Dragon Pulse was removed from the Bowmaster branch. Marksmen still have it in 3rd job.

No one is going to put any more than a single point into Ultimate Inferno until Level 170+ anyways. People will put a point into it early for the range increase, but that’s about it.

Why Level 170+? Notice how the five core Bowmaster skills now (Bow Expert, Sharp Eyes, Advanced Final Attack, Spirit Link, and Hurricane) all require 30 SP to max, meaning we’ll be at least Level 170 by the time those skills are maxed… And that’s not even including Maple Warrior.

I quite like what Nexon did here – Bowmasters seem ‘OMGPOWERFUL’, but we won’t even reach anywhere near our full potential until the very late game stages.

      • 5kHawtPixels-From-EMS says:

i think that’s the cool thing about bm after these updates. I think reaching your full potential on a high lvl is encouraging you to continue that char. So i don’t have any problems with that.

But remember, this is only the first part of the restructering….

    • Alilatias says:

And yeah, Marksmen could use a little more help with 1 VS 1. Maybe upgrade Sniping’s defense ignore to 60%?

  74. Leo says:

Will Snipers also get the drain arrow skill?

    • Alilatias says:

Nope. Snipers get Dragon Breath moved to 3rd job instead.

    • ~dougall~ says:

Not likely. This patch created some diversity in the archers by providing bowmasters with drain arrow, and marksmen with dragon pulse. It’s interesting too because without dragon pulse, bowmasters will have much more use for drain arrow, and since marksmen can’t heal with drain arrow dragon pulse will become very useful for them.

Hmmm, if Storm Break was removed for Wind Breakers and replaced by Storm Spike. Would Strom Spike be equivalent to Crossbowman’s Iron Arrow seeing as they both same the same damage %.

    • TheDevilish0ne says:

Wouldn’t* Storm* Spike be equivalent to Crossbowman’s Iron Arrow seeing as they both same the same damage % ?

  77. jack says:

    wind archers get albatross???

  78. greennov1 says:

    YESSSS
finally some kind of manouverability for archers (the fj like skill)

  79. Linfintie says:

Hey Spadow, I know your busy and all but could you give us your opinion on the patches such as more critiquing. I really like your blogs and when you make the a bm could u tell your opinion on mobility, bossing, mobbing, etc. and rate the class. Also, do you think there will be a pirate or thief reconstruction?? Buccs have no ultimate move and the one of the lowest DPM at the moment so i hope there will be one. And Corsairs need a skill similar to stance, it could be called ‘anchor’?? yeah, and thief skills are getting taken away :/
like flash jump is the same as double jump (AND THEY GET IN ON 2ND JOB ADV D:<) UNFAIR
well, i hope you can answer some of my questions :)

  80. WishfullSoul says:

If they’re trying to make the classes even this isn’t helping, this patch will make the wild hunters seem 2x weaker than Crossbowmen or Bowmansters

  81. Bale says:

I can’t wait for this, wish I had my old Ranger.
I think I’ll make a marksman for this.

  82. Soul says:

wow sounds a bit like overpowering but if it comes to be so awesome to be a bowman now i think il want to get one when jump comes to ems (trololol thats gona be in like 2 years T.T)

  83. Soul says:

well lol as you can see in the end teh adventurers that were so weak and had nothing after teh new clases came out are now the overpwred bitches that pwn all ppl :D

  84. SlayerGhost says:

All these updates to Archers are cool and all, but it isn’t enough to make me wanna jump on the bandwagon anytime soon…

  85. Hollogen says:

Anyone else think they’re really doing this just so the players are able to beat Emp Cgy(new boss)

    • John says:

Yes cause emp Cygnus too over powered!

    • Ghost says:

If I remember right they had the adventurer rebalance patch so it would be easier to take down PB too.
But the problem is nexon’s making all the levels stronger while only the highest levels actually need it to beat the Queen. With revamps like these, more and more people will be able to solo Zakum at an eariler level….

  87. Zhen says:

now archers get flash jump too…
watch warriors get some kind of jumping skill soon too

  88. Matt says:

So…okay. One last question. What would be more enjoyable. MM or BM? I mean I already have an epic 3-line Pyrope Bow with 104 attack and no enhances, but… I dunno.

  89. DracoRukario says:

Wow, definitely looking forward to this! So glad bowmen won’t be looked down on now. :D

  90. Matt says:

Any ideas on requirements for elite puppet? As in, what level does puppet have to be?

  91. Squirrely says:

I hope they fix piercing arrow to actually be good:
1-Make pierce charge quicker, and/or charge while jumping
2-Don’t break pierce after getting hit
3-Can pot while we charge (like hurricane can)

  92. Super Mario says:

Why wind breaker has not a skill which +HP%….

It will make them have very low HP at 120….

  93. iOakLeaf says:

Hey Spadow, you inspired me to make my own Blog. So if anyone would like to come see it it’s

    http://www.iOakLeaf.wordpress.com :D

It’s still in the beginning stage and it would be helpful if you could track some attention to it :D Thanks

(All about GMS Tespia and updates)

  94. anthony says:

whats Storm of Arrows and where did Hurricane go DX

  95. Julesx says:

Question: Snipe ignores 40% of monster def. Marksmanship ignores 25% of monsters def. If u have both skill maxed and u use snipe, would u ignore 65% of monsters def? BTW MMs should get AFA or a 30 watt buff! Its not fair D:

    • EzraSavage says:

its IS fair… if you’ve ever been a bowman (first job) and have used both bows and xbows you’d noticed that the multiplier was INSANE on xbows. I had a WA and used a lvl 28 Xbow til lvl 35 because with the skills i had the dmg difference wasn’t worth using a bow of my lvl.

  96. ReldWolf says:

    awesome!! great info dude :O
still, could you add the Master Level of the new skills?

  97. DancingBears says:

    Great job Spadow. Thank you

Is it possible for when this update goes live on the official KMS server for you to post the Skill tables of the new skills? No worries if you can’t but it’d be a great resource for us.

    Thanks :D

  98. Reanna says:

    Love you Spadow. <3

  99. Random noob on sidewalk says:

Does anyone think a bowmen ultimate would be cool?
It would most likely never happen but If anyone played maple ds and saw the arrow rain
    animation… wow.

  100. Nisrockk says:

    *JAMS THE “LIKE” BUTTON”

I’m loving this patch. I’ve not touched my BM for 2 years now due to its low survivability. After this patch (would prolly be in 2012 for MSEA) i’ll play BM like never before.

  101. ILuvMaple says:

    Sad i not korean…. T_T

  102. EiseiKenichi says:

Hey wouldn’t Eye of amazon be taken out because of archer mastery?

  103. KEVIN says:

    asdadfasfads hi

  104. Not you says:

I don’t like that KMS has all this now and that EMS doesn’t. We don’t even have Big Bang (We just got DB :( ) But yeah, it’s cool and i want it for my MM that doesn’t exist but that needs to be created.

  105. Shane He says:

Dude i wonder how much damage a marksman will do with that 8 monster piercing …..

  106. ConyBm says:

Rofl dude whats funny to me is that in a lvl 130 BM and i bought most of my mastery books for nothing xD

  107. msea player says:

MSEA waiting!!!! so long nid wait!!!! C0olPureb0w ranking delphinus!!!

  108. imbob says:

    marksman get concentrate?

  109. kiddo says:

=o= so. other class need to get to lv 150 to get most of their main skill.. bowmasters need to get to lv 180 to do so…

  110. Commando says:

Even though BM/MM are buffed in JUMP update, WH are still fine to play with. Those WH that is disapointed nvm just wait. Future patches like advance of the union will get WH back to the top!.
WH will get 100% stance from the new snow white jaguar
Wild arrow Blast 220 to 270% per arrow. Better then BMs hurricane 250%.
Jaguar will be able to jump at a much further distance compared to BM/MM.
They will also get Physical training and advance final attack like wat BM get in Jump

SO DUN WORRY WH OUT THERE!=D

  111. Pontifex says:

It may be the WH nightmare at jump patch but no worries. Agree with what Commando said. Every patch they buff different jobs.
