A new milestone: level 160~!

Finally I have reached level 160 today!
Two years ago, I thought I would never reach this level but thanks to the Big Bang and Chaos update, it made this much easier for me to achieve this milestone.
I guess I will have to try for the next milestone now, which is level 170. But it’ll take a while since I don’t really hunt monsters a lot. My daily routine is basically Papulatus and Zakum and event quests.
The major update of Dragon Nest KR that was supposed to be implemented on the 24th got delayed to March 31.
I’ll come back to Dragon Nest, but I won’t forget MapleStory though.
An update for MapleStory should be coming on March 31st as well.
It will contain the new Monster Park from Spiegelman, the Warrior restructuring and a lot more changes.
Yesterday I played a little bit on the test server and experimented with the new Treasure Monsters.
In the patch note of version 1.2.375 it said that these type of monsters appeared in ‘deserted’ areas, but that’s not true. they appear everywhere. You can recognize a Treasure Monster very easy: it has a green name tag under its name.
Treasure Monsters can drop Secret Mastery Books at a 100% drop rate and other items.
I will tell you which items and show you more screenshots when this hits the official server. Also, it was pretty weird using Dark Impale as a Dark Knight. I don’t know, but it just felt weird to me… Though, it’s very fast and damage stacks up very fast.
So I reached level 160 which means that I can now enter the Door of the Future or Gate of the Future, whatever you want to call it.

I haven’t been able to explore everything on my Viper yet, but so far I can defeat the monsters really easy and fast.
The quests aren’t hard to complete, you have to defeat monsters and collect ETC drops.

Very strange post title… If u look at my post on my blog from March 25th (b4 this was posted), it says “level 80, another milestone”. Spadow…my blog started as a mockoff of your blog….but now….im a bit creeped out. Strange coincidence man…

Congratulations on achieving lvl 160 Spadow! I’m surprised you’re having an easier time leveling up after Big Bang than before :o
KMS never had 2x EXP cards. That’s probably why. Well, that and a lot more places to train that aren’t reliant on whether or not a mage was going to come in and nuke your map at any moment.

I think for some level they should make the “level up” thingy bigger, or in a different color, or maybe you will recieve a new skill, because it’s boring to get the same animation 199 times… and congratulations again!
does destroyed henesys gives better EXP than lion heart castle does? or at least they have less HP?
I guess later they will buff pirates and then you will do like 100K 6 times with barrage.

I hope reaching 160 on my aran someday, currently lv 140 xD took a big break and now im back, cant wait for Chaos Patch to hit Global MS =D.
I cant wait till those secret mastery books come to GMS, i am currently a lvl 110 marauder (going to be a bucc this weekend WOOOOOOOOOOOOT) now since i am kinda unfunded but sourta funded at the same time (base 20 dex+chtp 70 all stat) i cannot afford the ds20 books, they have inflated because they are dropped by mobs that aren’t in popular training spots. Now I’m too scared to buy one to the fear of it might blowing up.. Loosing 250mil is some thing i cant do. D:
Oh btw gratz on lvl 160, enjoy the new playing area, i hope to go there soon, with LHC now available in GMS it shouldn’t be much of a challange.

Lol, jk. I only reached 160 on my characters because of Pap and Krexel (+ family rep system for easy teleporting!) Congrats :)
Anyway, a question about Treasure monsters; Are they spawned randomly? As in, you train and then suddenly one pops up? Or do you have to wait at certain maps for them? Or… (fingers crossed) is there just a map full of them?

My guess? They show up like twice per day on average in any map. You won’t be able to tell which monster is a treasure monster until you attack it.
My theory on treasure monsters: The “deserted areas” refers to training maps that people rarely use (like the cornians in the screenshot). They can appear anywhere, but they have a low, possibly random, spawn rate. As such, you’re far more likely to find them off the beaten path, in unused maps.

Spadow, how do you know if Treasure Monsters spawn everywhere if you only found one at Cornians, of all places?
1) When someone picks up a Secret Mastery Book from a Treasure Monster, everyone in the server will know and from which monster you got it from.
2) Other players have told me so.
3) I found more Treasure Monsters other than Cornians.
