The delay of a few skills from Battle Mage and Wild Hunter were changed.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one that thought Flash Rain was really slow.
Well, I tested the new Flash Rain and it’s definitely faster, a lot faster. But now you cannot move at all, you have to wait until Flash Rain is done with exploding arrows.

That’s basically it. I wish that the damage of Wild Hunters would improve, because when I see Battle Mages hunting, I’m amazed how powerful they are.

The rest of this update contains stuff about the World Cup.
New Cash Shop items were added plus the usual stuff such as Karma Scissors, Teleport Rocks, AP/SP resets etc.
I bought a 4th Job SP reset and I finally have Wild Shot. It’s an amazing skill, but at my current level it is still weak.
Oh.. I forgot one thing.
I think KMST will get a new party quest soon.

But in other words, the new PQ interests me. Hopefully it will incorporate more of the Black Mage storyline.
Have to say I am looking forward to more Black Mage storyline as well.

Ye just like KoC, Aran, Dual blader, Evan and so on made people stop creating adventurers. Oh right they didnt, and battle mage isn’t stronger than aran 1v1, i know that.
Sure battle mages look like awesome grinders.
Nevertheless, they remind me of paladins, who are awsome at killing skeles, same speed as battle mages in fact, but are way less good at bossing.
Will battle mages be good for bossing ? I’m not that sure.
About Wild Hunter, it’s a bit different, though I don’t know if they will have sharp eyes, cause whithout it, they will be out.

Possibly, the kill and letter shows the number of kills you have for quests like Veteran Hunter. Also, maybe there will be more cpq-like pqs, where you compete to kill monsters?
looks like most evans would start quitting now.
Evans have every element as an attack, but battle mages only have the dark element. Evans would have an advantage on any monster that is weak to an element
Is dark the same a posion? Would an ele wand 2/6 work on a battle Mage?

Party Killing at first sounds like PvP, but knowing Nexon they would change PvP into Party v Party, thus I expect this new PQ will be competitive, not co-op.
And isn’t odd that the ‘1 3 3 7’ is divded out (you can highlight one number unlike the ‘Kill’ counter.

PvP in MapleStory simply would not work. It’d be purely 1 hit kills all around, meaning Sins would ultimately be the only ones who actually win…
How about the damage is reduced by a certain percent, and hp is increased when inside the arena like 2x hyperbody or something. Then PvP can work, although probably difficult.
There’s no way PvP could equal among all five jobs, if a warrior and magician fought the magician would just use magic claw and tele to a safe distance
then how about special items and skills that can only be used in the arena. like some ranged attacks for those who are “range-ally challenged”
There’d be no point then. Warriors wouldn’t stand a chance in any way unless Nexon made their skill way overpowered, and then none of the ranged classes would want to play. PvP in MapleStory simply will not work due to an extreme inbalance.
That would defeat the purpose of warriors in a PvP.

maybe u get a party and fight against anothr party(i also have an idea mayb u summon monstrs to kill each othr like cpq but the type and amount of that monster depend on ur lvl. than u kill the monstr to get exp than who ever duznt die fight whoever is still alive
IMHO those battle mages are more than overpowered, I don’t care they have a minute cooldown on that tornado its just too much, is like a mobile genesis and if it finds a mob bigger than 15 it can easily pwnd genesis (in the vid the first time it killed 18 and the second 12 and just because he couldn’t find more), only thing that gives me hope is that is tespia and not the actual game.
Also spadow did you test that beast’s anger + hyperbody are stackable?
PD: Maybe its due to this new jobs that the balance patch was delayed (cuz it was right?).
Hyper Body stacks with the increased HP from Beast’s Anger. When the buff of Beast’s Anger disappears, your HP won’t decrease until Hyper Body runs out.
so that means if you keep on recasting hyperbody….Wild Hunters can have a heck lot of hp forever? GASP O.o
I guess that means that they didn’t thought of that since a +120% hp for 5 mins is like too much.
Ex: 4000hp + 120% = 11520
I miss calculated/typed is more like a +188% hp (also I typed 120 when it should have been 140) since its 4000+80%+60%.
Why do you think it’s overpowered? Regular Arch MAges and Bishops can spam kill 12 monters at a time wwhile they’re sleeping in their bed seven feet away. At least with Tornado they actually have to work… If anything, they’re way underpowered compared to the other mage classes simply due to the fact that all their awesome 4th job skills can’t be spammed at all.
So their underpowered since they can’t spam a 100k dmg skill at lvl 1 which also has another one that is similar to it and while not using those 2 skills hitting between 8k-16k with also an automatic summon (even though the chances are low) that hits 20-30k(althoughit attacks each 10secs).
I’m not saying they’re underpowered, either. I’m just saying that compared to other mages, it’s a whole lot more fair because an NX pet and some tape won’t be all you need to train.
And I thought dual bladers were overpowered. Do you think Cyclone and Dark Genesis were supposed to be switched around (considering damage)?
btw when will the resistance be released to KMS?

maybe…..its like a challenge pq where ur in a party and kill millions of monsters and procceed to the next floor? like dojo except for non-boss mmonsters and ther are like 50-80 monsters per floor?
Or a monster survival for parties.
But Monster Survival is already available for parties. Voltaire’s idea sounds more interesting, at any rate.

That is the skill i want! i checked some places, and looks like is a skill just wild hunter get, but i wish is possible get it with battle mage too, jeje, its in “citizen” (1-10) class, but i think you get it when you change job to wildhunter =_=
If they do combos then thats alright buy i was hoping for aran to be the only person to do combos since he owns.I still think aran is better than the resistance a little…
Maybe it’s finally a GOOD high level pq? I agree that with Voltaire said about the dojo like pq.
Don’t get your hopes up, it’s hard to make a high level pq with good exp since if the exp was made for the maximum range level then the minimum range level will take advantage of it and if the exp was made for the minimum range level then it exp would be useless for the maximum range level
Then why don’t they make certain levels get certain amounts of exp so it wont be completely useless.
I haven’t seen a PQ do this before, i know MPQ the exp varies if you defeat Frankenroid or not and in PPQ if someone in your party is lvl 80+ you get less exp. But the exp from those are determined per party, not per member. And I doubt that Nexon would have the code to do that.
Actually, Pyramid PQ does do something like this already, with its difficulty modes being based on the player/party’s level.
Of course, the EXP difference between each mode is generally ~5k EXP, but whatever.

Hey Spadow just a question about the 4th job skills for Wild Hunter. When you advance are there skill quests just like for adventurers or do you get all of your skills at once? Also, are there mastery books needed for the skills?
All skills at once. Resistance is not fully complete yet. No, there are no mastery books yet.

They’re weak because they’re in KMST.
What do you mean it doesn’t look like they need it? If you’re thinking it’s because most videos of their 4th job are dealing fairly high damage, it’s not because of their (what appear to be strong) skills, it’s because of Potential system a while back.
If anything, the whole ‘KMST players are weak’ standard no longer applies. The damage range is still not accurate enough to be compared to what happens in the official server, but I would take a bet that KMST players now are stronger than those in the official servers of all other versions.
They DO need the critical, but they do not need Sharp Eyes.
It looks like both resistance jobs (and any anymore that might come in the future) will get crit

The battle mage is much faster, keeping in mind most of these videos arent even “good” battlemages.
I hope you did not just say that after the above post in green….a good battlemage? These things have poteintail crap. If gms gets this potential paladins will 1-2hko with acb. Besides that: I takes a few hits with combo to take skele down. You will not always have dark gene or tornado. If anything, Evans could do better.
Welcome to Maplestory, you must be another Damage whore. Please take your seat over there with 99% of the other gamers.
Damage is not the only contributing factor to a good character. There is also Survivability, Mobility, Range, Potion consumption, etc. The battlemage has a great mix of many skills. and ACB does have the range of deathblow, which this mage seems to be killing of skeles solo or not in the same time as a ACB/Blast.
Also be sure to keep in mind a regular Paladin is usualy around 150 before he 1hitKOs skeles with blast every time, or 2 hits with ACB. The battle mages can be assumed to have far more potential than Paladins, according to these videos. Especialy keeping in mind that this mage is capable to obtain Strength and Mobility up there with the other mages, with none of the setbacks, such as Elements and Low HP.

I think the kill might be another thing like the Subway Clean Up/ Pyramid PQ. However, it would be much harder and you would need, lets just say 4 minimum participants. Personally I think it would have rounds or be timed and most likely have a boss at the end ( if you make it) So basically that’s my idea. Discuss, Disagree with my idea please.

If Battle Mages Turn Into the Black mage as the story line, Because Im Not Totally Sure Why Nexon Would make a 2nd Mage Class and Make It Have Dark Skills…
Chances of that are so slim we might as well say it isn’t going to happen. Don’t worry, nobody knows, but I’m sure Nexon has a (Somewhat) good reason…
I think it will be more likely for the Black Mage to have the same style of fighting as Battlemages, than for Battlemages to eventually become the Black Mage himself.
Allow me to elaborate what I said…
Chances of ANY class that is playable by actual people turning into the big boss that Nexon is hyping up is simply not going to happen. That’s like saying Evan might end up being Horntail just because it has a Dragon.

There are so many flaws with this…
1. If the Battle Mage turns into the Black Magician, what happens to the Wild Hunter? You would have to do something since they’re in the same class.
2. We know that the resistance is related to the Black Magician, most likely former or current followers of him. So the Black Magician can’t have followers who are Magicians but can have Bowmen?
3. Do you really think that the Black Magician would ever be a playable character? (Seriously?)

How about a cool down to those skills so it won’t be spammable. Also putting in a limit to number of teleports and flash jumps would limit the range classes advantage
If there’s a cooldown warriors would still get owned. Sins and Bowmen don’t NEED to teleport or FJ, as simply walking away, turning around, and shooting once will take em down in no time.
On another note, I’m a Shadower, and I could easily drop a warrior…
then how about pvp where close range people face other close range people to make it more fair,and far ranged people face other far ranged. Or also class vs. others of the same class.
But what happens when a brawler and gunslinger fight each other?
Still won’t be fair. My boomstep has far more reach than most, if not all warrior skills alone, and again, it would only take me one hit. Ranged vs Ranged wouldn’t be much fairer either, as Bowmasters can just hold the hotkey for hurricane down and own you in 2-4 seconds and Snipers can take you down with one shot…
Class vs Class wouldn’t work, either. Sins would beat Dits because sins are ranged,same goes for slingers and brawlers.
On another note, how would PvP even work? All we do is hold down one hotkey and watch our numbers… with the exception of Brawlers and Shadowers there’s really no true skill in it at all…

In my opinion, pvp is a waste of time in maplestory purely for the fact its not meant to be a pvp game. why spend hours and hours changing damage and hp modifiers just so people can kill eachother? if you wanna pvp play another game.
In relation to the wild hunter v battle mage thing, battle mages definately look like they have a massive advantage damage wise aswell as training speed. this is to be expected, mages have always been the fastest training classes. However i think, from observing the styles employed by wild hunters, that they indeed need some sort of damage boost. lets be honest, its on par with adventurers, and thats scary for a new class.
What i really want to see in GMS is balance patch, my shadower cried when they said they would release dual blader before balance. :'(
Who said Dual Blades come first? Everyone I hear from say that the balance patch is next.
