Changes were made to the new Chaos boss monsters.
Chaos Zakum:
– EXP increased
– The Chaos Zakum Tree Branch & Zakum Helmet now requires a Platinum Scissor of Karma to trade
Chaos Horntail:
– EXP increased
– Chaos Horntail Necklace now requires a Platinum Scissor of Karma to trade
I know many of you are anticipating for the next job. There is a lot of speculation about it~
In this test server patch a familiar UI window and three new skill names were added.
The three new skill names are:
- Flash Rain
- Claw Cut
- Mine
This is the new UI window:
I know that this window is meant for the Evan job, but the name of the file ”Equip.MechanicEquip” confirms that the next job will be mechanic.
So what can we say about this?
- A Mechanic will be able to summon a machine that’s able to attack.
- There will be special equipment for the mechanical machine
- The mechanical machine can wear equipment like Mir of Evan
- The UI window will be modified to suit the Mechanic job
This means that this mechanic will work in a similar way Evan does.
In the anniversary patch skill names such as ”M Summon” were added.
This probably means that you can summon your machine.
Many skills related to the Mechanic job have ”sit” animations. You will need to sit on your machine to execute a skill.
Though, not all the new skills have ”sit” animations.
One skill where you will use your machine will be ”Mine”.
I don’t think this will be an attack, but a supportive skill where you can mine for items or equipment.

Considering the battle against the Black Magician was long time ago on Maple, an advanced machinery and technologic Job wouldn’t fit an acient warrior… What do you think, Spadow?
I assume this isn’t the same job as the 3xxx? Or does it seem to be on the same branch? I mean, considering that there were three job branches on 3xxx…
im guessing 3000 is the beginner/first job version of this. and the rest 3XXX are the next job adv.
Um. How can you have three branches with one job (Mechanic)? That doesn’t make sense. From the 3xxx job IDs, there was going to be a mage, archer, and pirate. Mechanic doesn’t seem to fit into any of them, and if it fits into one, it won’t fit into the other two.
The Mechanics is using guns. Wild Hunters = Crossbow Battle Mage = Only staff not wand!
Crackpot theory: This might be a descendant of one of the Legends. A descendant from the future who somehow manages to get thrown into the past. Along with the rest of his starting town.

Not to go directly at you since others have said it too, but have you people ever heard of steampunk? I mean steampunk is ok in maple since well just look at magatia, also some games entirely made in a medieval world have mechs(steam kind ones), like lineage 2 http://www.lineage2.com/Knowledge/summon_1.html they’r almost at the bottom of the page.

I noticed this, and taking some time, get ready to see a little robot beside you growing with you throughout your maple advancement’s…just like EVAN!
I doubt the Robot would grow like Evan does… If it grows at all I’d imagine it getting a small part added to it with every new skill learned… So by level 200 you’ll have a massive war machine… lol
well obviously it would proboaly grow cause if ur giving it equips its gunna get bigger like upgrades and stuff oooo ooo i got an idea……FUTERE EVAN XD LOLZ

I don’t know but at leat to me mine sounds more like land mines than dig mines, maybe something like meso explosion but instead of money and having to activate it you just throw then and when mobs come in contact with it they recive damage.

Well i was watching a video where a mech put three mine looking things into the ground across the map and it had electricity going from one to another for about 25seconds, so could this be it?
fail … i dont like nercoposting , but man don’t ya know about the wild hunter skill MINE .. you drop mines when walking, it has nothing to do with the Magnetic Field skill of mechanic
I like ur idea but if they hav that they’ll probly nerf it so once u place it it has a duration time and than explodes by itself if no monster touches it in that time duration

All the new jobs they keep making just seam to be getting stronger and stronger. Im disapointed because even after the adventurer updates come to gms the newest job will still be so much more broken.

aka mine sweeper if know what i mean. basically i belive he places a mine that detonates when touched by a monster. would make a lot of seance for a macanic to deal with stuff like that.
I agree with you, He/she places a mine and when a monster comes near it, it explodes and it dies? I also think it creates more money than just regular base money.
no if ya read some of spadows more actual blogs u wil know that mine is just a skill that drops mines while u ride on ur jaguar and thats it , they explode after some time , no extra moneu

i directly tought : he wil have that gear town as his home town and he wil be sooo cool :)
but hasnt annyone tought of the following : there is a skill named CLAW CUT.
now from what i know in maple a claw is used by sin … so maybe the engineer can be diferent specilasations. like in a thief engineer a pirate and a mage but since there was an archer number typ thingy with the 3### CLAW CUT doesnt make anny sense….. hope for a skill name change or more info :)
oh and i also tought that M.SUMMON means u can summon a machine OR monster …. but that was obvious.
Claw cut means the Robot has a claw attachment built on it and it can… cut people with it.
Why are people trying to think so hard? This is Nexon we’re dealing with.

now this engineer CAN be hero CAN be evil but there were 3 job number thingys released 3### so that would be that those 3 jobs are 1 race because nexon sayd 1 hero and 1 evil…. so that would support my theory of different specialazed mechanics ….. ooooooh wish i could travel in time and see what maplestory is like 1 or 2 years from now xD
Different specialized mechanics could work, but I guess it’s too early to be speculating on this. I’m hesitant to admit that Mechanic will be an entire class group though, just because I don’t see how a mechanic mage would work. Something like the Zenumists/Alcadnos (forgot which one’s which) might work for that, but… something still seems out of place.

I think the job is about.. A guy or a girl depending on your choice of gender from the character slot. Who is from the future like you said, and something is gonna happen in the future ( Dark Mage does revives and does something). He/she creates a time machine and teleports back to the time everyone is at right now. and He goes traveling,warning and stuff.

Actually, looking at other comments below got me thinking.
– He/she depending on you’re character choice(gender) and stuff like the beginning.
-Something is gonna happen in the future.
– Victoria Island is a burnt dead Island by Dark Mage(he somehow won?)
– This boy/girl saw the burnt dead Islad because he is some sort of reguge or traveler(he is also a MECHANIC) he saw how bad it was and decides to make a time machine and help them.
– Now, when he goes back, has this teacher who use to fight using mechanic stuff(he is from that future place/house) and decides to teach he/she it.
– He/ she continue on he/she adventure.
– This is only a hypothesis not the real deal.

Hmmmm.. This is a peculiar twist on Maplestory. I must say. Where does this really fit? You can make some vague guesses but the truth is this is a completely brand new job. I’m gonna go out on a limb and call this an Adventurer.
Lately Nexon has been taking used ideas and adding them (monster survival, old bosses getting revamped) into MS. Ohhh.. I wanna see them make Axes or Maces this jobs specialty weapon, haha. That would bring some market fluctuation in.
Let’s hope they are not making class relying on BW. I like low prices of them and that is how it should be f3 *selfish*
In other games, mechanic related job usually branches off the archer job.

Archer is the only branch that splits off into 2 subclass instead of 3.
well pirate branch only splits into 2 same as archer branch is, and i think it can be more related to pirates than archers, but thats what i think XD and it can also might be related with neo tokyo? liked the idea about the hero in the future going back to safe the past XD

– Aran is the Hero.
– Evan is not a descendant, he just got dragged into a spirit pact and becoming the next Dragon Master with Mir, in which Mir is the descendant of the mage legend’s Onyx Dragon.
So we still have a few other ‘original’ options left for the other three legends, like:
– A descendant of one of the Legends teaching a student about his/her long-lost techniques
– A descendant from the future traveling back into the past (willingly or unwillingly)
– Someone on their way to becoming an adventurer suddenly comes into contact with the ghost of one of the Legends. (Admittedly, this one’s rather ridiculous, but it could be awesome if pulled off right.)
Another one is if their birth right to be a legend among their people, but their tutors were elminated by the black mage (kinda like the Last airbender)
And The black mage could revert one for the heroes back to his/her youth form and sent him to the future.
I’m going to take a wild swing at this and say something I’ll prob be raged at for; There’s a possibility that this isn’t a Legend.
You guys are freaking out because of all this Legend/Hero class bullshit. Dual Blade wasn’t a legend, and this seems more to be an entirely new Job type altogether.
It could be, like I’ve theorized before, that this is a new job with three branches.
Also, just because it has Archer, Mage, and Pirate job codes within it doesn’t mean that it’s an exact Mage, Archer, or Pirate.
For example, a common staple of quite a few games are Magitek/MagiTech, where it’s a machine infused with magic (Look at FF3 for a nice example.). This would explain the Mage job code. Hell, it could just be a Machine with elemental attacks (Stun Guns, Flamethrowers, etc.).
The Pirate one could well be a Machine with low damage, rapid firing attacks, and the Archer could be more of a slow-fire, accurate attacker.
Just my rantings, though…

In case you didn’t know, Beginners already have five job advancements.
They’re called Warrior, Archer, Magician, Thief, and Pirate.
If this mechanic job had its own branch as an adventurer, it would be noticed as 6xx

I still think its a legend because it didn’t bring any new weapon types so far and even if it did, it would be something like laser and that would be more suited for pirate. The town sorta reminds me of magatia mixed with amoria.
I think it could be a new pirate adventurer, but it seems kinda useless to me.
When you think about it, heroes/resistance seem to cover the job not covered in KoC.

However I’m baffled (yeah, baffled) by mages:
Blaze Wiz-Evan(multi-magic)-Battle Mage(dark).
So I think it will be either the new hero or the new resistance. If its the new resistance, black mage came back around the time of pirates (though it reaslly didn’t have much of a role. All I can remember is one quest involving muirhat), so that was wat, a few years ago? So if this was a resistance pirate, which would make sense to me seeing as WildHunt is pretty advanced, it would start out in either a super-nerfed neotokyo or near amoria judging by the town. OR just a random theory, relating to the muirhat quest, at that time the black mage took some random lvl noob that just so happens to be the descendant of the guy who helped freeze aran and is now going to be a slinger (like his great-whatevever grandpa). Unfortunately, he got away before kyrin could stop him. He now has whoever is advancing the BatMages and WiHus and teaching him altered skills, some regular skills, and new skills that his relative learned in order to help in the fight against the legends again.
I think it’d make a pretty epic opening cutscene and a nice storyline. However, since you’re completely on the mage’s side now, you eventually fight again kyrin when she tries to invade your town and take you back (though its really a clone) for a job advance. I think that’d be pretty epic. You’re main elements should also be dark and ice, seeing as 1. ancestor helped freeze aran and 2. they should’ve put ice into KoC. I love ice =D coolest element EVAR. sorta funny I never made an I/L.
I saw a motorcycle on some Dual Blade videos and I think something revolves around a Dual Blade. Like helping dual blades? I hope there’s gonna be a epic storyline and preview. Wonder what’s the mob gonna look like!

i think mechanic would be classified into the group of resistence along with battle mage and wild hunter
and there is still a unknown warrior and thief job for resistence.
and to double check , is dual blade counted a job of the group heroes?
shadow you now that the mech job instruter is in the bass so and I have checked and it probably come out next week some time because every other person that has a blog and plays maple said it
