A new job is scheduled to be released soon in the test server.
This time the thief hero can shine.
Anyone who visits the Korean MapleStory website will see a new page. A background with three silhouetted characters.
It says it’s coming soon. Well I guess after all they will not be disappoint people with the very big patch planned in March.
A few days ago I published a poll about the new update and the three most voted at the moment are:
- New maps for high-leveled players 23% (220 votes)
- A new job 22% (211 votes)
- A lot of disappointment 22% (209 votes)
Around 950 people participated in this poll and 22% thinks there will be a new job. Well, you are right.
There is not a lot of information yet about this new job, but what I can tell you is that this job will use a new type of weapon: dual blades.
This is a new scroll, it can only be used on blades.

Can’t wait for more information on this new class! I just saw some attacking animations on a different website, and I have to say they look awesome so far. I’ve never been into the thief class, but I’m definitly hopping on the bandwagon for this one!
Argh… I was guessing, there would be a job using two blades.
But I was expecting it to be the pirate one, cause in every pirate movies, we see pirates using blades, but not in Maple !
Then I really don’t know what will the Legendary pirate be ! I hope that nexon will surprise us once more.
In my opinion, the Legendary bowman will be the less imaginative.
i was so excited to see what the legendary bowman class was gonna be but then they are coming out with the thieves first .-_-. for the pirate class i really hope they use guns!

From what i know it wont be 2 daggers, but a totally new type of weapon.

The gap between the classes is really small, though. Didn’t they say in that conference that they expect to release the new class by the END of the year? Well, this is no end.
And I was expecting some new high-level area similar to ToT. xD
I’m pretty sure they were talking about releasing Evan by the end of the year. I though that conference took place at the beginning of last December.
i know GMS will have some soon, but cant say anything :P march/april we will get great contents on GMS ^^

All I know so far, is that the weapon is categorized as “Blade”. So lets get prepared for some fast slashing.

I saw them from a different source. It certainly does not look fake to me, but to verify this, I will need an insight of the next patch which might add skill data.

Kyooo. I hope the guys name is Izan cause I made a character named Izan a LONNG time ago haha. XD and i think it would totally be epic with Izan.
SouthPerry’s patch extraction lists some new hairstyles. One of them translates to “Ryan [color] hair”. Racie’s notes in a different thread at SouthPerry indicates that another hair style called “Aran [color] hair” was added too.
I don’t know if this is just some coincidence or Ryan is the actual name of the new legend though.
did anyone notice that the leaves arent suppose to be there? there are no trees in kerning city. perhaps their skills have something to do with leaves?
and the bushes seem misplaced.
They probably left them there to look nice. Besides, the forest between Lith Harbor and Kerning City has plenty of bushes and leaves.
I think Kyo added the bushes. They look the same as the ones from the Evan cutscene.

now we have rare cheap daggers while our gear is like 500 times more >.>
it would be better if second dagger is weaker while a mastery skill to raise the second dagger’s performance
Unfortunately, they will be unable to use shields. I wonder how they will balance it out.
If the skill animations are real…omg. Triple Stab and a Triple Assaulter? >.>
and what’s with the metal orb thingy…lol
making this job will be very expensive…
it would be the same story it was for pirates when guns and knucklers came out their prices were too high and now they are too low who knows what will happen with this job…

I think the blacked out legend in the middle is wearing a mask, If you look closely to the left side of his face where the tiny bit of light hits it you can make out an orange line above and beneath his eye, Also there’s a cut off where the eye is and the mask, making me think that he’s wearing a mask more :P But it’s all just speculation xD
its not a mask i think he has orange hair and red paint across his face
and u can tell his attaks has to do with wind look very good =D

ever since I heard about the evan class I was hoping for the thief legend to be a dual wielder. Now just hoping we need 2 blades to equip (2 godly blades even more godly damage! =D). Though, it will be kind of expensive xD

its won`t be 2 Diffrent Blades its one weapon just u see 2 blades like knuckle that u see 2 knuckles on each hands.

* i was wondering if the dual blades are 1 chr slot(and you see 2 blades on your charter) or 2 chr slots for 2 blades (maybe you can wear a lvl 10 and lvl 20 blade at the same time if you have too chr blade slots)
* ow yea and i thought it was confirmmed that the 5 names were: Aran,Evan,Ian,Ochan,Utan?? thats what you said…

The new weapon type should be blade and I never said Aran, Evan, Ian, Ochan and Utan were confirmed hero names.

They’re aran, sin and Evan skills all mixed up and recolored.
The first few strikes are all different angles of the new L7 animation, the final red swing is the final hit from Aran’s overswing, the letters that appear are the Savage Blow symbols with the color reversed (if you notice, when he’s cutting through the skill, even the shining edges are cut, he probably used paint or something) and the last black swirl thing is Evan’s dragon rush, just recolored, the beginning to it is a WK’s lightning charge, turned black, the bomb at the end is also from a Neo Tokyo monster I believe.
Oh, and the big leap attacks are all the same Overswing hit, just shrunk down. When he jumps into the air near the end, if you mess around, you see it moves EXACTLY the same as the second hit from overswing, it’s just smaller.

Also, for people saying “there’s a sin and a dit”, the one on the left is Dark Lord, and the one on the right is likely the Hero classes generic informative NPC, like Lilin with Aran.

Lol,its not a hero class.Its an explorer class called Duel Blade,i find it boring.Its been released for some time in EMS(english,or North america Maplestory).He weilds a Katara and a dagger,with flashy moves and required a lot of funding and NX to move on.it has many job advancements.Its 5th job REQUIRES NX to move on.
