KMS V96 ~ 7th anniversary!

Finally~ The anniversary patch of MapleStory.

What has been added?
- The anniversary stuff*
- Multi Pet system

*= You probably saw that the Lv. 77 Maple Battle Axe had the same design as the Lv. 66. It was a placeholder.
Here is the new image of the Lv. 77 Maple Battle Axe.

I read the patch note and there was no sign of the item rating & reinforcement system.

In regards to the new upcoming job (see URL), new skill names (delays) were added. There were a few added in KMST V306, but I forgot to mention about it. Anyway, if you want to know the new skill names, read more for a full list.

Japanese Dragon Nest PV

As many of you may know, Dragon Nest is a new action RPG game developed by Eyedentity Games and has been in OBT since March in Korea.
Other countries have showed interest in this game such as China, Japan and America.
CBT is about to start in Japan, starting from April 28th. OBT is in late May and the official version will be presented in June.

Aside from Tespia, I have been playing this game nonstop. I am almost Lv. 30 and it’s so much fun! Since I’m leveling fast, I am facing a disadvantage.
The level cap right now is 32 and you cannot earn % at Lv. 32. I hope a big update with a level cap removal will come soon~!

Dragon Nest makes use of voice acting, which means you will hear many different voices from NPCs, monsters and skills.
Recently it has been announced that Japanese rockstar GACKT will be lending his voice to Belskard, the main villain in Dragon Nest.

To promote Dragon Nest in Japan, a promotional video has been released.

KMST V307 ~ Multi Pet system changes

Yesterday I said the following:

I think this system is useless. One pet is good enough, multipet system should only be good if there is an advantage which there is currently not.

Another test server patch was released today. It was more of a bugfix patch, but the multi pet system was tweaked.
If you saw the multi pet UI image yesterday, you saw that there are three slots with ”Pet skill”.

You have pet skills in Cash Shop that can be bought and can be applied to the pet such as item pick up, HP potion etc.
This is different. They added something nice for lazy people~!

Yep, real skills. The two new pets (Skunk & Scuba Duck) were changed. They are able to auto buff you. You can drag your supportive skill like Haste or Booster or Thorns Effect or Shadow Partner from your skill window to the multipet UI and your pet will auto buff. Though, the animation won’t appear and I haven’t tested this out with party members.
So far the only pets that are able to auto buff you are the Skunk and Scuba Duck.

Let’s move on to another topic. I’m sure you have seen the two images from the 7th anniversary video of Racie.
I uploaded the same video hours later, but I discovered that the two images you see in the video of Racie were deleted in the video I uploaded.
It was probably the stuff we actually weren’t allowed to see. ~_~;

And I thought it was a Birdo… It’s actually a Panda/Bear and it looks like it’s the Scarred Bear from the Aran quests.
You can see that this Mapler is riding some sort of machine and when he smashes on the ground, it causes the two enemies to flip upside down.
Is this going to be an engineer job?

In March I discovered that new skill names such as Quad Blow, Death Blow and Lasergun. A few days later a whole new job category was added.
The 7th anniversary of MapleStory is in a few days. With the content that has been released so far in Tespia, I must say that this anniversary is big.

I’m really excited~!

KMST V306 ~ Multi Pet system & Parallel Coupon

Another system was added in a patch that was released today. And a way to create instantly a Lv. 10 1st job character.

But first I want to show a video of Korean employees of MapleStory sending their greetings and congratulatory messages for the upcoming 7th anniversary of MapleStory.

You know… I noticed something very weird. Someone else (Racie/AndyIsSoKool) has uploaded the same video. He got it from the MapleStory website and the same for me.
Here comes the weird part. You can see something very new in the video of Racie.

If you look at the video that I uploaded, you can see that the screencaps above are not in the video that I uploaded.
It looks like I uploaded an updated version of the same video.
Maybe it’s just me and my eyes…
The developers doesn’t want us to see this kind of stuff? ~_~

What do you think it is? The attack reminds me of the Owl Dead skill of Dual Blade and this thing in grey, is it a monster?

In March I reported about the photos that were released by MapleSEA from the Nexon office in Korea. In one of the photos there was a monitor visible who was designing a new map.

KMST V305 ~ The 7th anniversary of MapleStory

I’m sure a lot of you are excited for the big patch, huh? Sorry to burst your bubble, but it isn’t this patch.
I think it will never come.

On April 29th, MapleStory will celebrate its 7th anniversary. The usual Maple anniversary stuff was added, but there is more.
The item rating & reinforcement system is disabled in this patch. You can still buy the scrolls, but you can’t scroll any item.

They better tweak the system because you can get some crazy items.

I guess the maximum stars you can get is not ten. The first image is crazy. That is a godly pet accessory.

Two new pets with pet accessories were added in today’s patch.
Pet accessories could be the reason that the item rating & reinforcement system is disabled at the moment. I mean… Just look at the two images above.
The item description of both scrolls were updated.

On the left image you can see the equipment enhancement scroll.
I’m sure you can figure out the meaning of it. Eight stars and up = 10% success rate.

The right image is the scroll for potential. Before, the success rate was unknown, but you can see it right now that it’s 70%.

Midnight ban imposed on online games

In South Korea you can find a lot of gamers. Many of them have an addiction where they play for days without getting the normal amount of water, food and sleep.

I think many of you heard this on the news recently, the case of parents who let their actual infant starve while they took care of a virtual baby in an MMO.
Quite shocking.

To prevent this, the South Korean government is going to implement a sort of shutdown system/curfew in a few selected online games.

This includes popular games such as MapleStory, Dragon Nest and many more.
Atleast Dragon Nest has a fatigue system.
But games like LineAge, World of Warcraft and Starcraft will probably not be affected by this new policy.

This policy applies to underaged players. In Korea, you are considered an adult when you are nineteen years old.

KMST V304 ~ Item rating system and more

Test server patch of April 7, 2010.

With the contents of this patch, these kind of equipment can be made.

This item adds 19 STR and 6 DEX.
Weapon Attack: +141
Physical Defense: +2
Accuracy: +45
(This item can be scrolled multiple times, even if the amount of upgrades is 0!)

This dagger item is classified as ”Rare Item”. It adds 2 STR, 6 DEX and 5 LUK.
+117 Weapon Attack
20 Accuracy and 20 Avoidability.

What is so weird about this? There is an extra line!
This is an item that gives potential abilities.

+8 DEX
+16 Accuracy and +40 HP.

Dual Bladers are gonna be even more powerful. Damn~
I broke a lot of items yesterday. ~_~ My damage range on my Dual Blader decreased by a LOT.
